Dyslexia Assessments

Diagnostic assessments for dyslexia involve completing a range of standardised psychometric tests designed to measure reading, spelling, memory and underlying ability against the normal range for other children of a similar age. The test will be carried out by Vanessa who is a qualified AMBDA assessor and has a current Assessment Practising Certificate. Supporting information may involve completing some non-standardised tasks such as writing a short piece of text or assessing letter-sound knowledge. Background information provided by the parent and school will also be taken into the account.

The assessment will take approximately 1.5-3 hours depending on the needs and concentration of the individual. A written report with a diagnosis and recommendations will be provided within 3 weeks of the appointment.
